Hi Krishnendu,
there seem to be more data entries in text file than defined by 545 x 410.
# CellsX for initial microstructure?
545
# CellsZ for initial microstructure?
410
Here the given initial microstructure in your file is meant.

Ralph

Re: Empty .GES File?
May be a misleading error message and it is a license issue.

Re: Empty .GES File?
Hm. Don't know. The file works fine. # Reading GES5 workspace ... # Index relations between TC and MICRESS # -------------------------------------- # The database contains the following components: # 1: AL # 2: CU # Specify relation between component indices Micress -> TC! # The main component has i...

Re: Empty .GES File?
Hi Constantin,
Did you really use the newly generated GES5 file in MICRESS ? The file which you checked in TC.
Can you attach your GES5 file here ?
Best,
Ralph

Re: license check failure on Linux client
Dear JiwonP, you can enable the output of more diagnostic information by answering the 'license location' question with 'verbose' and give the @license_server next. The output of the 'MIC_info' script provides also information to solve this problem (WARNING: This might be confidential !) I recommend...

Re: Solidification SLM
There are other types of input for orientations: a) average grain orientations a text file with a list of properties per grain, i.e. phase and grain orientation (averaged). This is recommended because MICRESS will average also local input. b) local orientations MICRESS can read local orientations fr...

Hi Maike,
there is no direct input of EBSD data in MICRESS.

Re: Parallelization for Large Simulation domain
Hi Sai,
Yes.
Solvers, e.g. diffusion, flow, stress, and problem size influence the speedup you can reach.
At some point your memory bandwith and cache size might also limit the number of threads reasonable to use.

Re: Parallelization for Large Simulation domain
Hi Sai, there are separate executables for serial or parallel execution. Of course, you can use both for a serial execution (i.e. one thread), but you will only benefit from multiple threads with the parallelized exe, e.g. MICRESS_par_TQ. The serial exe is faster than a 1 threaded parallel exe becau...

Re: Random Error in MICRESS 6.4
Linux only:
It is an environment variable 'TMP_DIR' or 'TMPDIR' (just test).
You can set it for testing in a current shell, e.g. 'export TMPDIR=/tmp' and run MICRESS in this shell.
If it works as expected, you can add this command to your login profile, e.g. .bashrc
