Can you change the name of the output files?

Hi MICRESS forum,

I was wondering if its possible to change the name of output files within MICPAD. When i create a new simulation i copy the previous simulation and change a couple parameters but when i do this, it keeps the name of the output files. So all the simulations I have with results have the exact same output file name. Would it be possible to change the output file names within micress? Hopefully my query makes sense, any help would be much appreciated.

Thanks,
Matthew

Hi Matthew,

You should also change the output name in the driving file within MICpad (in section "Output Location" close to the top).

Best wishes
Bernd

I agree. The location and basename of the MICRESS results is a normal parameter in the driving file.

I think we can add the change of this parameter to the copy procedure in MICpad.
The output location of the copy will stay the same (typically relative to the location of the copied file).
But the basename will be set to the name (without extension) of the driving file.

I will take that as a feature request for MICpad.

Best,
Ralph
